What is a Portable Air Conditioner? How does it work?

Portable air conditioners are standalone units that provide cooling for specific areas or rooms. They consist of a compressor, condenser, evaporator, and a fan. They work by extracting warm air from the room, cooling it through the refrigeration cycle, and then releasing cool air back into the space. The hot air is typically vented out through an exhaust hose that can be placed near a window or another suitable outlet.

How to Choose a Portable Air Conditioner

There are several factors to consider when choosing a portable air conditioner. The starting point is cooling capacity (measured in BTUs or kW), which should always match the size of the room you want to cool. Other factors include energy efficiency, noise level, additional features such as programmable timers and remote control, and the overall build quality and reliability of the unit. Power (BTU and kW vs. Room Size)

The cooling power ise measured in BTUs (British Thermal Units) or in kiloWatts. As a general guideline, the choice of BTUs and kWs must be based primarily on room size: higher BTU ratings and higher kW for larger rooms and lower ratings for smaller spaces. However, it's important to note that other factors, such as insulation and heat sources, can influence the cooling requirements.
For rooms up to 85m3 you can choose an element with around 9000 BTU or 2 - 2,5 kW. For bigger spaces, up to 100m3, better to choose units from 9000 to 12000 BTUs (2,6 to 3 kW). Some of De'Longhi most powerful units can reach up to 13000 BTUs (3,3 kW) and are suitable for areas bigger than 120m3.

Heating Function and Dehumidification Function

The dehumidification function helps to remove excess moisture from the air, improving comfort and reducing the risk of mould growth. This function can be used, for example, in a very humid room or at certain times of the year when the humidity is particularly high. The heating function, available on the De'Longhi PAC EL92HP, allows the appliance to provide warmth during the colder months, making it a versatile appliance that can be used all year round.

Úrovně hlučnosti se mohou lišit v závislosti na modelu. Důležité je zvolit jednotku s takovou úrovní hlučnosti, kterou lze pro zamýšlené použití tolerovat, zejména pokud se bude klimatizace používat v ložnicích nebo jiných tichých oblastech. Podívejte se na modely, které mají tichý provoz nebo zahrnují technologie snižující hluk.

Spotřeba energie

Přenosné klimatizace jsou obvykle označeny hodnocením energetické účinnosti, které určuje jejich možnosti úspory energie. Pomáhá tak uživatelům provést informovaná rozhodnutí ohledně jejich účinnosti. V Evropě se energetická účinnost přenosných klimatizací obvykle určuje prostřednictvím certifikátu European Energy Efficiency Certificate. Tento certifikát používá škálu od A+++ (nejefektivnější) po D (nejméně efektivní). Země jako USA a Austrálie používají své vlastní systémy energetického značení, jako je například Energy Star a Energy Rating Label. Výběrem modelů s vyšší třídou energetické účinnosti můžete minimalizovat náklady na elektřinu a snížit dopad jejich používání na životní prostředí.

Jak nainstalovat klimatizaci s externí hadicí?

Instalace přenosné klimatizace s externí hadicí je opravdu snadná: odvodní hadice musí být správně připojena k jednotce a směřovat k vhodnému oknu nebo ventilačnímu otvoru. Nastavení jednotky zahrnuje připevnění hadice a zabezpečení dobré izolace, aby se předešlo vstupu teplého vzduchu do místnosti.
Nejprve vyberte vhodné umístění přenosné klimatizace blízko okna nebo dveří. Umístěte jednotku na rovný, stabilní povrch nejlépe v blízkosti elektrické zásuvky.
Potom připojte odvodní hadici k zadní části klimatizace (obvykle se zasouvá do určené zásuvky nebo otvoru) a natáhněte ji směrem k oknu nebo ke dveřím.
Nakonec spojte druhý konec hadice s ventilační sadou pro instalaci do okna, která je dodávána společně s jednotkou.
